Johor-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS)

The project is seamlessly connected to the Johor-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS), enabling a one-stop border crossing for effortless travel between Malaysia and Singapore.

The RTS will implement a “single checkpoint with dual inspections,” allowing passengers to travel across the border in just 6 minutes. Expected to be completed by the end of 2026, the RTS will make living in both cities a convenient reality.

E-ART Infrastructure System

The transportation infrastructure in Johor is undergoing significant upgrades, with the state government proposing the construction of an elevated Automated Rapid Transit (ART) system.

Spanning over 50 kilometers, this system will feature 32 stations across three lines: the Iskandar Puteri Line, the Skudai Line, and the Tebrau Line. The government plans to synchronize the operation of the ART system with the RTS, aiming for official launch in January 2027, further enhancing connectivity and convenience in Johor Bahru.

Visa Waiver Boosts Ties

Starting from December 1, 2023, Malaysia and China have announced a one-year visa exemption policy, extending the duration of stay from 15 days to 30 days. Earlier this year, Singapore and China also established mutual visa exemptions, fostering closer business travel, tourism, cultural exchange, and educational collaboration among the three countries.

Chinese tourists can now fly directly from Guangzhou, Haikou, Kunming, and Chengdu to Johor Bahru without layovers, making travel smoother and more convenient. Additionally, travelers can choose to fly directly from cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen to Singapore and then continue on to Johor Bahru.
